  • Rani pickpocket karte dikhayi jati hai.
  • Police unko pakad leti hai, thana le jati hai.
  • Inspector Sharma: “Tum jaise logon ki wajah se hi sheher galat lagta hai. Tumko koi izzat kaam karne ka khayal nahi?”
  • Rani: “Izzat kaam se nahi milti… izzat paiso se kharidte hain, sahib.”


Scene 4 – (5 mins)

Night – Hotel room

  • Rani as escort.
  • Client Aman aata hai, educated, thoda awkward.
  • Conversation me Aman uske personal life ke bare me puchta hai.
  • Rani breaks down: “Main choice se nahi hoon yahan. Din me chor, raat me tawaif… kyunki mere ghar me roti ki keemat hai, izzat ki nahi.”

  • Aman silence me uske struggle ko samajhne lagta hai.


Scene 5 – (6 mins)

Flashback sequence

  • Maa ka dancer past dikhaya jata hai – 90s ka bar dance, beizzati, police raid, ek aadmi ka thappad.
  • Maa ki awaaz: “Mujhe laga tha meri beti ko bachaa lungi… par gareebi aur bhook ne tujhe bhi le liya.”


Scene 6 – (6 mins)

Rani apni maa ke liye dawa lene ja rahi hai

  • Pickpocket karte hue pakdi jaati hai.

Climax

ACTION:
Rani bheed me silently glide karti hai. Ek aadmi ka wallet slip. Dusri taraf ek lady ka phone half-out.
Rani ek second me swap – CUT TO CU: uski aankhon me nervy focus.

MAN (shouting): Arre mera wallet… mera wallet!

RANI (apne aap se fusahat): Shor se zyada pet chillata hai, bhaiya.

CAM: Handheld chase. Rani ek pillar ke piche slip, MS me handbag se wallet nikaal—sirf do notes rakhti hai, baaki floor pe flick kar deti hai.

RANI (VO):
“Har chori me main kuch chhod deti hoon… taaki lagge main buri bhi hoon, par purī nahi.”

SCENE 2 — INT. RANI KA KAMRA (SLUM) — AFTERNOON (3 mins)

MAA:
Main chahti thi tu doctor bane… par gareebi ne tujhe mere raste pe dhakel diya.

RANI (nazar chura ke, halka muskura):
Doctor nahi… par operation jaisa haath chalata hai mera.

MAA (dard bhari hansi, phir serious):
Izzat ki daar par girna aasaan hota hai, uthna mushkil.

RANI (soft):
Izzat kaun deta hai, Maa? Sab paisa maangte hain.

Beat. Maa ke baal par haath. Rani ki ankhen pani se chamakti.


SCENE 3 — EXT. BAZAAR LANE — DAY (4–5 mins)

SFX: Bike horns, hawkers.

Rani ek businessman ka phone target karti. Jeb se nikalti hi Hawaldar door se dekh leta.

HAWALDAR (chilla ke): Ae ruk! Ae ladki!

ACTION: Chase. Rani galli me turn — ek bachcha takrata; Rani use sambhalti.

BACHCHA: Didi!

RANI (jaldi): Sorry, hero!

CUT TO: Police corner karte hain.

INT. POLICE JEEP — CONTINUOUS

INSPECTOR SHARMA (dry): Naam?

RANI (seedhi aankhon me): Rani.

SHARMA: Rani… kaunse raj ki?

SCENE 4 — INT. POLICE STATION — LATE AFTERNOON (4 mins)

SFX: Typewriter-like keys, ceiling fan, chai ki chamach.
CAM: MS Sharma desk pe. Rani bench pe. Hawaldar hansi daba raha.

SHARMA:
Pickpocketing ka pehla record nahi hai tumhara. Kaho, kahan ka training?

RANI:
Training? Pet se milti hai. Roz.

SHARMA:
Izzat se kaam karke bhi kama sakti ho.

RANI (tikhā):
Izzat ka rate batao, sahib. Hourly ya monthly?

SHARMA (pause, softens moment bhar):
Ghar kaun hai?

RANI: Maa.

SHARMA:
Aur baap?

RANI (stonewall):
Jiska naam sab certificate me hota hai, zindagi me nahi.

SHARMA (thanda):
Chal, kal court me pesh karenge.

RANI (andar ki ghabrahat ko dabate):
Mujhe jaana hoga. Maa ki dawa…

SHARMA (nazar tikā kar):
Sab kahte hain. Sab sach nahi hote.

Beat. Rani chup. Sharma bhi sochta hai, par file band.


SCENE 5 — INT. BUDGET HOTEL ROOM — NIGHT (6–7 mins)

SFX: AC ka halkā hum, shehar ki dur ki awaaz.
CAM: WS saaf-suthra par sasta room; MS Rani mirror me apne chehre ko dekhti—makeup minimal.

DOOR BELL.
AMAN aa chuka. Formal shirt, awkward calm.

AMAN (hesitant smile): Hi.

RANI (professional, soft): Hi. Pani?

AMAN: Haan, please.

SILENCE BEAT.
CAM: CU dono ke haath – Rani glass deti hai.

AMAN:
Tumhara naam?

RANI:
Naam se kya hota hai?

AMAN (saaf):
Naam se aadmi bolata kaise hai… isliye poocha.

RANI (chhoti si muskaan):
Rani.

AMAN:
Main Aman.

Brief silence.

AMAN (careful):

AMAN (narm):

RANI (hairpin drop sa smile):
Baat ke bhi rate hote hain, par theek hai. Aaj discount samajh lo.

AMAN:
Ghar?

RANI:
Maa. Bimaar. Main hi sab hoon.

AMAN:
Tum din me?

RANI (hawa me tik-tik):
Din me chor. Raat ko tumhara ‘guest’. Aur subah? Bas beti.

AMAN (heavy):
Tumhe madad chahiye?

RANI (turant):
Madad ka bill sabse mehenga aata hai. Aadatein lag jaati hain.

Beat.
AMAN:
Main judge nahi kar raha.

RANI (finally cracks):
Judge sab karte hain. Par koi lawyer nahi banta hamare liye.

CAM: CU Rani ki aankhein geeli.
AMAN (slow):
Agar kabhi… bas chai pe milna ho, bina rate ki baat ke… main hamesha—

RANI (soft interrupt):
Sheher ke sabse badhe jhooth me se ek — “Main hamesha”…

SILENCE.
RANI (phir bhi naram):
Thanks. Tum alag ho. Par system same hai.

CUT: Aman payment rakhta hai, par Rani ka haath rok ke kehta—
AMAN:
Isme se thoda… dawa ke liye.

RANI (dekh kar):
Isse tumhe kya milega?

AMAN:
Neend. Shaayad pehli baar sahi wali.

RANI (halki muskura):
Goodnight, Aman.


SCENE 6 — MONTAGE/FLASHBACK — INT./EXT. BAR + GALLIS — (5–6 mins)

MUSIC: Dard-bhari old-school track (instrumental).
CAM:

  • WS 90s style bar; CU Maa young, stage lights; notes udte.

  • Police raid, tamacha, girta hua angochha.

  • Maa roti ginti, kiraye ka jhagda, raat ki sard hawa.

VO – MAA:
“Beta, maine socha tha tujhe bachaa lungi… par bhook se bada dushman nahi hota.”

VO – RANI (overlap):
“Main bhi kaun si bachi? Main to bas tum hoon…”

CUT BACK TO PRESENT—RANI ROAD PAR CHALTI—AKELI.


SCENE 7 — EXT. PHARMACY + GULLY — EVENING (5–6 mins)

SFX: Dhoop dhalti, bus horns.
CAM: MS Rani prescription list pakde. Prices dekh ke ghabrahat.

CHEMIST (neutral):
Advance deposit karo. Phir full strip dunga.

RANI:
Half de do. Baaki kal.

CHEMIST:
Policy nahi hai.

CUT TO: Outside. Rani tense, logo ki jebon ko dekhe bina reh nahi pa rahi. Ek aadmi UPI kar raha, phone half nikla.

RANI (andar ki ladaai):
“Mat kar… par karna hoga.”

ACTION: She slips phone—lekin HAWALDAR dekh leta. Pakad. Thane le jaate.

INT. POLICE STATION — CONTINUOUS

SHARMA (gussa):
Phir? Hospital se seedha yahan plan tha kya?

RANI (phut padti):
Plan sirf ameeron ke hote hain. Garibon ke paas emergency hoti hai.

SHARMA (thoda ruhka):
Court.

(DOOR OPENS) AMAN enters.

AMAN:
Sir, main guarantee deta hoon. Iski maa hospital me hai. Main deposit karta hoon.

SHARMA (taunt):
Aap kaun? Lawyer? Ya… client?

AMAN (seedha):
Insaan.

SHARMA (dekhte hue):
Guarantee likho. Kal tak agar koi complaint aayi, dono andar.

RANI (hushed to Aman):
Tum kyun aaye?

AMAN:
Tumne kaha tha—“koi lawyer nahi banta hamare liye.” Main try kar raha hoon.


SCENE 8 — INT. HOSPITAL RECEPTION — NIGHT (5 mins)

SFX: Monitor beeps, stretcher wheels.
CAM: CU “DEPOSIT REQUIRED” board.

RECEPTIONIST:
Fifteen thousand deposit. Warna operation line-up nahi hoga.

RANI (ghabra ke):
Maa ki saans phas rahi hai!

RECEPTIONIST:
Rules.

AMAN (card nikalte):
Main karta hoon.

RANI (rokte hue, aankhon me sharm-gussa):
Nahi. Ehsaan ke neeche dabti nahi main.

AMAN:
Ehsaan nahi… insaniyat hai.

WARD BOY (beech me):
Doctor bulaun?

A MOMENT.
Rani haath jodti, aankhen band.
RANI (halki si awaaz):
Maa ke liye… theek hai.

CAM: MS Aman swipe karta; receipt Rani ke haath me.

RANI (throaty):
Main yeh paisa wapas karungi.

AMAN:
Kar dena. Par aaj… saans bach jaye.


SCENE 9 — INT. HOSPITAL WARD — LATE NIGHT (5 mins)

SFX: Oxygen mask hiss, distante prayer.
CAM: CU Maa ke honton par halka muskurahat jab Rani ka haath chhooaye.

MAA (kamzor):
Tu aa gayi…

RANI:
Haan Maa. Aaj sab theek ho jayega.

MAA:
Meri… galtiyaan mat dhora… duniya do chehre degi tujhe… par tu apna asli chehra kabhi mat chhupa.

RANI (tootti hui):
Maa, bas tu theek ho ja…

MAA (saans toot-ti):
Tu ro mat… roshni ban…

SFX: Heart monitor flatline.
RANI: Maa… Maa!

CAM: WS Rani maa ko jhulaati; CU tear on cheek. Nurses rush. Sheet upar.

FADE SILENT.


SCENE 10 — INT. HOSPITAL CORRIDOR — CONTINUOUS (3 mins)

SFX: Corridor echo.
CAM: MS Rani bench pe shaant, aankhon me khaali aasmaan. Aman pass me khada — kuch na keh pa raha.

AMAN (narm):
Main hoon yahan.

RANI (seedha, thakā hua par pakka):
Ab main hoon. Bas main.
(Beat)
Aaj se koi rate card nahi. Main apni kahaani khud likhungi.

AMAN:
Main… madad kar sakta hoon. NGO janta hoon, safe house—

RANI:
Madad nahi… mauka. Bas ek mauka.

AMAN (sir hila ke):
Mauka tumhara. Main sirf darwaza dikhata hoon.


SCENE 11 — EXT. POLICE STATION — EARLY MORNING (2–3 mins)

SFX: Subah ke pakshi, doodhwala cycle.
CAM: WS station ke bahar Rani khadi. Sharma duty pe aa raha.

SHARMA (dekh kar):
Phir se…?

RANI (seedha):
Nahi. Aaj bail nahi—badlaav. NGO join kar rahi hoon.

SHARMA (cynical):
Kitne din?

RANI (eyes lock):
Jitna lagge izzat jeetne me.

SHARMA (lambi nazar, thoda pighal):
Agar sach me try karegi… to thana me milna mat. Office me milna — referral de dunga.

RANI (surprised):
Kyun?

SHARMA:
Shayad… main bhi insaan hoon.

RANI (tiny smile):

SCENE 12 — INT./EXT. NGO CENTER — MORNING LIGHT (3–4 mins)

SFX: Chalkboard ke kharoch, bachchon ki hansi, sewing machines ka dhun.
CAM: WS NGO hall — women learning tailoring, kids reading.
NGO WORKER (40s, warm):
Skill classes hain — stitching, salon basics, data entry. Stipend milta hai. Raat ko safe shelter bhi.

RANI (saans le kar):
Mujhe silai sikhni hai. Aur… padna bhi. Class 8 se aage nahi padh pai thi.

NGO WORKER:
Ho jayega.

MONTAGE:

  • Rani machine par stitch sikhti—needle ke saath apni kismat seedhi karti.

VO – RANI:
“Mujhe chor banaya… mujhe randi bulaya… par ab main apni zimmedaari se apni pehchaan banaungi. Izzat bikti nahi — jeeti jaati hai.”

CAM: CU Rani ki aankhen — iss baar darti nahi.
