NARRATOR (V.O.)
"Yeh tha Bhopal, ek sheher jo chal raha tha apni rozi-roti ke liye... lekin andhar hi andhar ek khauf chhupa tha."


Scene 2 – INT. Mazdoor Family House – Night

Small room, kerosene lamp burning. Raghu (35), a factory worker at Union Carbide, teaches his son Ravi (10) simple math. Wife Savitri (30) kneads dough, daughter Gudiya (7) plays with a broken doll.

RAVI
"Babuji, main bhi bada hoke factory mein kaam karunga?"

RAGHU (smiling, tired)
"Nahin beta… tu factory nahin, school jayega. Tu master banega."

SAVITRI (softly)
"Bas Bhagwan kare, bachchon ka bhavishya hamse behtar ho."


Scene 3 – INT. Union Carbide Factory – Night Shift

Dimly lit, noisy machines. Workers look exhausted. A small leakage hisses from a pipe, unnoticed.

WORKER 1 (worried)
"Yeh tank no. 610 ka valve phir se leak kar raha hai…"

SUPERVISOR (shrugs)
"Chhodo, kal dekh lenge. Abhi production ruk gaya toh company humari gardan tod degi."

Camera lingers on the MIC tank, almost like a sleeping monster.


Scene 4 – EXT. Colony Chhat – Night

Families sleeping on rooftops to escape the December heat. Stars above, laughter of kids, distant factory lights blinking.

SAVITRI (to Raghu, whispering)
"Yeh factory se hamesha ajeeb si badbu kyun aati hai?"

RAGHU
"Kaam hai Savitri… humare liye roti yahin se aati hai."

He hugs her. Slow zoom out, foreshadowing danger.


Scene 5 – EXT. Mohalla Wedding – Next Day Evening

Band baja, kids dancing, free food stalls. Joyous atmosphere. Raghu’s family also attends.

NEIGHBOR
"Arre Raghu, tumhare bacche kitne acche lag rahe hain!"

RAGHU (laughs)
"Yeh toh unki maa pe gaye hain."

Sudden cutaway shot – in the distance, smoke rises faintly from factory chimney.


Scene 6 – INT. Local Newspaper Office – Night

Journalist Arif types on an old typewriter. Headline draft: “Union Carbide Safety Concerns Ignored?”

EDITOR (scared)
"Arif, yeh sab
छापना khatarnaak hai. Company aur neta dono peeche pad jaayenge."

ARIF (determined)
"Agar sach nahi likhenge toh kal ka Bhopal andhere mein doob jayega."

(Act 1 continues with more daily life, small gas leak hints, hospital doctor shortage, etc., until 40 mins when the fateful night begins…)


Act 2 covers the entire night of 2–3 December from build-up to the leak, chaos, and the family’s survival run, intercut with hospital, journalist, and factory perspectives.


ACT 2 – The Gas Leak Night (Approx. 60 mins)


Scene 7 – EXT. MOHALLA – EVENING

Wedding ki dhoon abhi bhi hawa mein. Patakhe ki halki awaaz. Door factory ke chimneys par laal batti blink karti hui.

NARRATOR (V.O.)
"Har sheher ki raat ek jaise nahi hoti. Kuch raaton mein waqt ruk jaata hai."


Scene 8 – INT. RAGHU KA GHAR – NIGHT

Chhota sa kamra. Savitri rotiyan sikh rahi, Ravi homework band kar raha, Gudiya khilona thama so rahi.

SAVITRI (pyar se)
"Ravi, light band karo. Subah school hai."

RAVI (aadhi jamhai)
"Thik hai Ma."

Raghu aaj thoda der se ghar aaya. Chehre par thakaan.

RAGHU
"Kal double shift hai… par agle hafte Ravi ke liye nayi kitab launga."

Hansi ki chhoti si lehar. Ek mehfooz pal—thoda lamba tikta hai.


Scene 9 – INT. UNION CARBIDE PLANT – CONTROL ROOM – 10:15 PM

Halki roshni. Panels par blinking lights. Operator RAMU readings dekh raha.

RAMU (ghabrahat se)
"Sir, tank 610 ka temperature badh raha hai. Pressure bhi."

SHIFT INCHARGE KHANNA
"Cooling chalu hai na?"

RAMU
"Sir… refrigeration kuchh din se off hai… 'cost cut' directive…"

KHANNA (dabata hua gussa)
"Rekord mein mat daalo. Valve 7B check karo. Water-wash start karao."


Scene 10 – INT. LOCAL NEWSPAPER OFFICE – 10:40 PM

Arif typewriter par baitha. Phone mila raha. Busy tone.

ARIF
"Plant PR ko milao… safety waali story pe unka quote chahiye."

EDITOR
"Raat ka time hai Arif… kal dekh lenge."

ARIF (khidki se factory ki taraf dekhte hue, halki si badbu mehsoos karta hai)
"Kal ho sakta hai der ho jaaye."


Scene 11 – INT. PLANT – MIC AREA – 11:25 PM

Pipe se halki seepage. Floor par chamakdaar geeli rekh. Ek chhota explosion jaisa “thunk”.

WORKER 2 (cheekhta)
"Leak! Leak! Mask kahan hai?!"

Alarm ki halki si awaaz shuru hoti—phir thodi der baad thamm jaati hai. Confusion.

KHANNA
"Siren mat bajao full, panic ho jayega. Pehle water curtain chalao!"


Scene 12 – EXT. FACTORY PERIMETER – 11:45 PM

Security guard ne nak pe rumal baandha hua. Hawa bhaari si. Aasmaan mein safed dhund jaisi layer.

GUARD (bechain)
"Ye badbu tez ho rahi… hawa idhar ko aa rahi."

Door ke mohallo mein kutte bhaukna band kar dete hain. Sab kuch thoda thanda padta hai.


Scene 13 – INT. RAGHU KA GHAR – 12:10 AM

Raghu neend mein palat-ta. Savitri ko khansi aati hai.

SAVITRI (rub karte hue gala)
"Raghu… ajeeb si jaln ho rahi… aankhon mein jalan…"

RAGHU
"Khidki band karo. Shayad factory se kuch aaya hoga."

Gudiya ne khansi. Ravi uth kar paani pita hai. Achanak badbu tez.


Scene 14 – INT. PLANT – CONTROL ROOM – 12:25 AM

Gauges full tilt. Alarm blares. Engineers bhaag daud.

RAMU (ghabra kar)
"Pressure relief kholna padega! Tank overpressure pe hai!"

KHANNA (decision lete hue)
"Vent lines open! Water curtain full! Fire brigade ko call karo!"

WORKER 3 (darte hue)
"Sir… log gir rahe hain—mask nahi mil raha!"


Scene 15 – EXT. MOHALLA LANES – 12:35 AM

Safed jaharili badli (gas cloud) galliyon mein ghus rahi. Log khansi, ulti, aankhon mein aag. Bachche cheekhte.

NEIGHBOR AUNTY
"Bhago! Upar pahadi ki taraf! Neeche mat jao!"

RAGHU (bachchon ko uthaata)
"Ravi, Gudiya ko gale lagao! Savitri, dupatta bhigo! Paani! Jaldi!"

Savitri lota mein paani daal kar dupatta geela karti hai. Sab muuh dhak kar bhaagte.


Scene 16 – EXT. CROSSROADS – CONTINUOUS

Bhagdaud. Kisi ne cycle girayi, kisi ne bachche ko kandhe par uthaaya. Rickshaw waley full.

RAVI (rote hue)
"Babuji… aankhen jal rahi…"

RAGHU (saans tootti hui)
"Mat ro beta… bas saath pakad ke rakho."

Ek aadmi raste par gir jata hai. Log use uthane ki koshish, phir apni jaan bachaane bhaag jaate.


Scene 17 – INT. HAMIDIA HOSPITAL – EMERGENCY – 12:45 AM

Dr. MEERA duty par. Bed se teen guna zyada patient. Koi oxygen, koi saline, nurses paani se aankhen dula rahi.

DR. MEERA (command mode)
"Lines clear karo! Aankhen wash karo! Breathe karwao! Jo saans nahi le paa rahe unko sabse pehle!"

NURSE
"Doctor, masks khatam ho gaye!"

DR. MEERA
"Rumalon ko geela karo—jo mil sakta hai karo!"


Scene 18 – INT./EXT. POLICE CONTROL ROOM / CITY ROADS – INTERCUT

Phone lines chilla rahe. Officer rehte hue bhi confused.

DUTY OFFICER
"Plant se koi official statement? Gas ka naam kya—?"

OPERATOR (phone pe)
"Lines busy… koi clear jawab nahi de raha!"

City roads par logon ki bheed. Ambulance ka horn dub jaata hai halki si cheekhon mein.


Scene 19 – EXT. FACTORY GATE – 1:00 AM

Arif journalist cycle se aaya. Aankhen laal, rumal geela.

ARIF (guard se)
"Andar kya ho raha?!"

GUARD (khud khanshte hue)
"Humein bhi nahi pata… bas bhaag jao!"

Arif photo kheenchne ki koshish karta, lens dhundla. Who coughs hard, double over. Phir bhi likhta—
"Gas leak—city choking—help needed."


Scene 20 – INT. PLANT – MIC AREA – 1:05 AM

Workers valves se lad rahe. Kisi ke haath kaanpte.

WORKER 2
"Sir, water curtain height tak nahi pahunch raha!"

KHANNA (bekasi mein)
"Jo ho sakta hai karo! Emergency team ko bulao!"

Ek worker behosh hota. Doosra usko kheenchte hue bahar le jaata.


Scene 21 – EXT. TEMPLE COURTYARD – 1:12 AM

Log andhar bhaag kar paani ke haude ke paas perhe. Ghantiya band. Pujari logon ko paani dete.

PUJARI
"Rumal geela karo! Aankhen dho! Neeche mat baitho, uthkar chalti hawa ki taraf jao!"

SAVITRI (Gudiya ko seene se chipkaye)
"Bas thoda sa… bas thoda sa aur…"

RAGHU (Ravi ka haath thamay)
"Station road ki taraf—shayad wahan se gaadi mil jaaye."


Scene 22 – EXT. STATION ROAD – 1:20 AM

Bheed. Tempo, truck, buses—sab par log latak rahe. Drivers pareshan.

TEMPO DRIVER
"Zyada log chadh gaye toh gadi hil jayegi!"

RAGHU (bechain, thoda paise dikhata)
"Bhai, bacha hai mere saath… please."

Driver sir hilaata, lekin jagah nahi. Raghu family ko side se le jaata.


Scene 23 – INT. HAMIDIA HOSPITAL – EMERGENCY – 1:28 AM

Dr. Meera ki aankhen laal, awaaz bhaari. Bachche cheekh rahe, buddhe behosh.

DR. MEERA (nurses se)
"Intake register rehne do—pehle jaan bachao! Eyes wash station yahin banao!"

NURSE (thak kar)
"Doctor, oxygen cylinders khatam ho rahe…"

DR. MEERA
"Jo mil sakta hai manage karo. Window kholo—fresh hawa lao!"


Scene 24 – EXT. CITY ADMIN BUILDING – 1:35 AM

District officials meeting room mein bheed. Kuch masks, kuch bina.

OFFICIAL 1
"Company bol rahi—'minor leak' hai…"

OFFICIAL 2 (ghusse se)
"Minor?! Shehar bhaag raha hai! Public announcement karao—logon ko upar ke ilako ki taraf bhejo!"

RADIO OPERATOR
"City radio pe message bhej raha hoon… 'Paani se muh geela rakhein, upar ki taraf chalein.'"


Scene 25 – EXT. RIVERBED / NALLAH – 1:42 AM

Raghu family nallay ke paas. Log paani mein rumal bhigo rahe. Kayi gir kar behosh.

RAVI (kamzor sa)
"Babuji… saans…"

RAGHU (use kandhe par chadhate hue)
"Mere kandhe par reh. Savitri, Gudiya ko gale se chhupa ke rakh."

Hawa ka rukh badal sa gaya hai. Gas ki parat kabhi ghani, kabhi patli.


Scene 26 – EXT. HILL SLOPE TRAIL – 1:55 AM

Uphill chadhai. Log thak kar girte, phir uthte. Rone ki awaazen. Kisi maa ke haath se bachcha phisal kar baith jaata; sab madad karte.

SAVITRI (thak kar, par kacchi himmat se)
"Bas thoda aur… upar pahunch gaye toh bach jaayenge."

RAGHU (apne aap se)
"Bhagwan… bas bachchon ko bacha lo."


Scene 27 – EXT. PLANT PERIMETER – 2:05 AM

Arif corner mein baitha likh raha, aankhon mein jalan. Phone booth dikhta hai—line dead.

ARIF (dictating to himself)
"Sheher ko turant madad chahiye. Hospitals toot gaye. Bachche…"

Woh khud ro padta hai, par likhna band nahi karta.


Scene 28 – INT. HAMIDIA HOSPITAL – 2:15 AM

Emergency aur tez. Afsar log aate jaate. Volunteers baltiyon se paani laa rahe.

DR. MEERA (Raghu family ko dekh kar)
"Bachchon ko yahan laao!"

Raghu aur Savitri aagaye—Gudiya behoshion si, Ravi kamzor.

DR. MEERA (tez, par naram)
"Aankhen dho, saans check karo, inhe yahan latado."

RAGHU (to doctor)
"Doctor, hum… hum mar toh nahi rahe?"

DR. MEERA (seedhi nazar)
"Nahin. Jab tak hum hain, koi akela nahi hai."


Scene 29 – INT. HOSPITAL HALLWAY – CONTINUOUS

Bheed mein alag-alag chehre: ek jawaan apni maa ko sambhale hue; ek ladki apne bhai ko paani pilati; ek nurse khud roti par phir bhi kaam karti.

NARRATOR (V.O.)
"Jab sheher toot-ta hai, log ek dusre ko sambhalte hain."


Scene 30 – INT. PLANT – CONTROL ROOM – 2:30 AM

Gauges dheere-dheere neeche gir rahe—leak ghat raha hai. Par hawa mein ab bhi zeher.

KHANNA (thak kar kursi par girta)
"Report banani padegi… kya likhenge?"

RAMU (khidki se andhera dekhte hue)
"Jo bhi likhenge… sheher yaad rakhega."


Scene 31 – EXT. HILLTOP / CITY OVERLOOK – 3:10 AM

Raghu, Savitri, Ravi, Gudiya ek ped ke neeche. Saans ab thodi behtar. Neeche sheher par safed dhund ki parchhai.

RAVI (kam si awaaz)
"Babuji… hum bach gaye?"

RAGHU (aankhon mein aansu, lekin himmat)
"Jab tak saath hai, hum bach gaye."

Savitri Gudiya ko seene se lagaye, duur aasman me subah ki pehli rekh.


Scene 32 – EXT. CITY STREETS – DAWN (AROUND 5:30 AM)

Subah ki pehli roshni. Sadkon par khamoshi. Yahan-wahan log be-hosh, jaanwar, chhodi hui chappalein. Ek radio se halka sa announcement ka echo.

RADIO (O.S.)
"Kripya gharon me band na rukein… upar ke ilakon ki taraf chalein… paani se aankhen dhoyein…"

Arif camera uthata, shutter click—ek sakshi banne ki koshish.


Scene 33 – INT. HAMIDIA HOSPITAL – MORNING LIGHT

Dr. Meera ki aankhen suhagan si laal, par awaaz dabangi se bhari.

DR. MEERA (nurse se)
"List banao—kinhe transfer karna hai. Local help groups ko bulao."

NURSE
"Doctor, aap ne aaram nahi kiya."

DR. MEERA (thodi muskuraahat)
"Aaj sheher soya nahi. Main kaise so jaun."

Raghu family ko volunteers paani aur kapde dete. Gudiya aankhen kholti.

GUDIYA (kumkum sa)
"Ma…"

SAVITRI (ro padi, halki hansi ke saath)
"Main yahin hoon, meri jaan."

RAGHU (dur sheher ko dekhte hue, dhimi awaaz)
"Ab kya hoga…?"

NARRATOR (V.O.)

Scene 35 – EXT. CITY PANORAMA – MORNING

Wide aerial—Bhopal par sooraj ka naya din, par hawa mein abhi bhi kal raat ka saaya.

Ambient sound: door tak khamoshi, phir door se logon ki awaaz—'Madad chahiye.'

Scene 36 – EXT. CITY STREETS – MORNING AFTER (3 December)

Safed dhuandh ab uthi hai, lekin sadkon par lashon ki lambi line. Chappalein, kapde, cycle, sab bikhre hue. Ek kutta laash ke paas baitha hai. Raghu family hilltop se neeche aati hai.

SAVITRI (shock mein)
"Yeh sab… Bhagwan…"

RAGHU (bachchon ki aankhen dhak kar)
"Bachchon ko yeh sab mat dekhne do."


Scene 37 – INT. HAMIDIA HOSPITAL – DAY

Hospital ka hall lasho se bhara. Nurses aur doctors aankhen dhulva rahe. Posters chipak rahe “Don’t panic. Help is coming.”

DR. MEERA (exhausted, par firm)
"Sab survivors ki list banao. Jaldi. Aur truck arrange karo cremation ke liye."

NURSE (roti hui)
"Doctor ji… bachpan se is hospital mein kaam kiya, aisa kabhi nahi dekha."

DR. MEERA
"Aaj se Bhopal badal gaya hai."


Scene 38 – EXT. MASS CREMATION GROUND – EVENING

Hundreds of pyres. Agni ki laal roshni. Log rote hue, phool daalte. Raghu ek laash ko dekhta jise woh pehchanta tha – neighbor.

RAGHU (andar se toota)
"Kal tak saath baith kar roti khayi thi… aaj bas raakh ban gaye."

SAVITRI (aankhen nam)
"Abhi bhi hamare bacche saans le rahe hain… bas iske liye shukr hai."


Scene 39 – INT. LOCAL NEWSPAPER OFFICE – NIGHT

Arif typewriter pe likh raha: “City of Death. Government silent. Justice demanded.”

EDITOR
"Arif, tumhari jaan khatre mein hai."

ARIF (determined)
"Aur agar maine likha nahi, toh sabki jaan bekaar ho jaayegi."

Woh camera se lashon ki photos chipkata hai apne article ke saath.


Scene 40 – EXT. RAGHU KA GHAR – NEXT MORNING

Ghar mein Ravi khansi se hil raha. Gudiya aankhon mein jalan se roti hai.

SAVITRI (gabrahat se)
"Doctor ne kaha tha phusphus mein infection ho gaya hai… davai bhi mil nahi rahi."

RAGHU (fists tight)
"Company ne zeher diya… par dawa bhi nahi de sakti?"


Scene 41 – INT. GOVERNMENT PRESS CONFERENCE – DAY

Politicians table par. Reporters chillate.

REPORTER 1
"Kitni maut hui hai? Official figure kya hai?"

MINISTER (defensive)
"Humein abhi poora data nahi mila… sab control mein hai."

ARIF (tez awaaz mein)
"Control mein?! Sadkon par laashen hain, hospitals toot rahe, aur aap keh rahe control mein hai?"

Minister ne nazar churaayi.


Scene 42 – EXT. PROTEST RALLY – DAY

Widows aur survivors road par posters leke: “Union Carbide Band Karo” / “Justice for Bhopal.” Raghu bhi bheed mein. Police barricade banati hai.

SLOGAN (crowd)
"Zahar factory bandh karo! Insaaf do!"

POLICE OFFICER
"Back off! March ki ijazat nahi hai."

RAGHU (gusse mein, par dard se)
"Ijazat lene ka waqt nahi bacha. Humari saansen company ne chura li hain!"


Scene 43 – INT. COURTROOM – DAY

Judge ke saamne survivors, lawyers, company representatives. Raghu gallery mein baitha. Arif notes bana raha.

LAWYER (for victims)
"Mylord, yeh ek man-made disaster tha. Safety system deliberately bandh kiye gaye. Thousands died, lakhs injured. Company ko zimmedar thehraya jaye."

COMPANY LAWYER (coldly)
"This was an accident, an act of fate. Compensation will be minimal."

SURVIVORS (murmur angrily)
"Accident? Yeh qatl hai!"


Scene 44 – INT. HOSPITAL WARD – NIGHT

Ravi nebulizer pe. Gudiya aankhon pe patti bandhi. Savitri unko sambhaal rahi.

SAVITRI (Raghu ko)
"Main bas yahi chahti hoon… bachche zinda rahein. Baki sab ladai tu lad lena."

RAGHU (thoda aansu, thoda himmat)
"Main ladunga, Savitri. Chahe kitne saal lag jaayein."


Scene 45 – EXT. NEWSPAPER PRINTING PRESS – NIGHT

Arif ka headline press se nikalta hai: “Bhopal Gas: Who Will Pay?” Paper bundles truck mein ja rahe.

NARRATOR (V.O.)
"Jab neta aur company chup ho jaate hain, awaaz sirf awaam ki hoti hai."


Scene 46 – EXT. PROTEST GROUND – WEEKS LATER

Thousands ka dharna. Survivors ne tent lagaye. Dr. Meera free camp chala rahi. Arif photos le raha. Raghu volunteer ban gaya hai, paani aur dava baant raha.

DR. MEERA (to Raghu)
"Apne gham ko taqat bana lo. Yeh ladai lambe waqt ki hai."

RAGHU (sir hilaata hai)
"Main rukunga nahi."


Scene 47 – INT. COURTROOM – MONTHS LATER

Judge ka gavel bajta hai.

JUDGE
"Prima facie, Union Carbide ko zimmedar maana jaata hai. Compensation aur criminal trial dono chalenge."

Gallery mein claps, ro ro kar gale milte log. Raghu aankhon mein aansu, par aankhon mein ek roshni.

Raghu, Savitri, Ravi, Gudiya chhat par baithkar sheher ko dekh rahe. Ravi thoda kamzor par jeeta, Gudiya aankhon par specs, Savitri ke haath mein dupatta. Raghu ke chehre par himmat.

RAVI
"Babuji… main school jaa paunga na?"

RAGHU (muskurata, aansuon ke saath)
"Haan beta. Abhi bhi zindagi bachi hai. Aur jab tak zindagi hai… ladai bhi chalegi."

Family ek dusre ko gale lagata hai.


Scene 50 – FINAL SHOT – EXT. CITY PANORAMA – DUSK

Wide shot of Bhopal. Doobta suraj. Ek white text overlay:

TITLE CARD:
